1. As per the 2011 census data 27 % are non-iterate, which covers more than 30 crores of our population. The literacy rate for women is only 65% that means 35% of women are still non-literate. There is a low rate of literacy among Dalits, Adivasis, fishworkers in coastal areas and people belonging to Other Backward Communities.
